有申请UMD的嘛？关于他家PS和SOP的疑惑！

UMD申请进入ASF的申请页面后，右边出现了7项，第2项要求提交1000-2000字的PS (Statement of Goals, Research Interests, and Experiences)，第6项要求提交1-2页的statement of purpose！！！
怎么都要啊！！！
当初看它的申请要求上是说Statement of Goals & Research Interests" and "Statement of Experiences" are required and these can be submitted separately or as a single document.

这是需要提交两份嘛？还是一个就够了。。。

我当时问过ECE的小秘这个问题，下面是他的回答
A personal statement, statement of goals + research interests and
experiences, and statement of purpose are all the same thing. There is
only one statement you have to write. Why they call it three different
things, I do not know, but they are all the same thing.

Here are some general guidelines for the statement of purpose in case
you need them. It is expected to be in paragraph form and there is no
word limit. I would advise that you be pretty concise and to the point
though. Consider that the admissions committee has to read thousands
of these statements, so being as concise as possible is beneficial. I
would try to keep it under 2500 words. Also, be sure to address your
research goals and interests, why you want to attend graduate school,
why the University of Maryland is right for you, and why you are right
for the University.
