Software QA Intern

Job Summary
. From 1point 3acres bbsDevelops, modifies, and executes software test plans to ensure IT business solutions meet high quality standards.  Receives assignments from QA Manager, participates in the preparation of test procedures and plans, executes test cases, clearly documents software defects, test findings and helps with the preparation of administration/maintenance documentation.

Essential Functions

• Assists in the development of Test Plans and test cases
• Participates in the testing and quality assurance of software produced by our internal enterprise application development team:
• Participates in the preparation of test cases, test plans and procedures.
• Executes test cases: ensure software operates as designed and is compliant with software requirements.
• Documents and reports test findings.
• Concisely enters defects into the defect tracking system.
• Interfaces with IT personnel for the installation of the software and defect resolution.
  

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation of June 2013 or later
• Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and up to fulltime during summer break
• Exposure to at least one Programming Language (Java, Python).
• Exposure to internet communication systems, IP networking (HTTP, TCP/IP, SNMP, OSI).
• Experience with SQL.
• Able and willing to learn. Shows initiative in gaining knowledge in software testing and development.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports.
• Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and is able to reproduce and communicate these steps.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports.
• Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products.
• Works well in a team environment and alone.

Software Engineer Intern

Description

We are seeking JAVA and C/C++ programmer/students currently enrolled in BSCS/BSCE/BSEE programs willing to join a fast paced and challenging development team as an intern.  Students will work under the direction of senior and junior software and QA engineers on small tasks which will encompass analyzing, developing, modifying, documenting, testing, and debugging our software products.  You will also learn and exhibit departmental standards and procedures, and become familiar with technologies relevant to the company’s cutting edge software products.

Essential Functions:

• Participates and helps in the design activities of software development.
• Tests and debugs software and delivers to directing developer for system integration and test.
• Codes and maintains software modules of moderate to large size and complexity working from written and oral requirements and specification.
• Assists in the development of prototype versions of software modules and applications.
• Participates in design and code reviews.
• Provides regular feedback (e.g. detailed status reports) to supervisor on progress.
• Developing cross platform applications that make a difference in the work environment.
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering in progress.
• Graduation date of June 2014 or later
• Ability to work 15-20 hours/week during the school year and up to 40 hours/week during summer break
• Experience: JAVA or C/C++ preferred
• Programming ability in the following languages, C++, JAVA, and User Services
• Software Development experience
• Ability to work in a team environment and develop enterprise level applications, under the direction of senior staff and management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
