There are 2-3 Ph.D. RA positions at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama. Research areas include big data analytics, high-performance computing, and data mining. The Ph.D. students will be co-supervised by Dr. Dingwen Tao and Dr. Zhe Jiang. The positions require applicants to have strong programming skills (e.g., C, C++, Matlab, Python), good mathematical and statistical background, and good communication & presentation skills. Students with majors in CS, EE, Math, and Physics are all encouraged to apply.
Applicants with the following qualities are preferred:
* Research or development experience in GPGPU or FPGA
* Research or internship experience in data mining and machine learning
* Research experience in MPI or OpenMP parallel programming
