Fully-funded Ph.D. positions at the University of Nebraska (Omaha, NE)

The University of Nebraska, Omaha (UNO) is a public research university in Omaha, NE with a current enrollment of about 20K (graduate, undergraduate, and medical) students. The College of Information Science and Technology at UNO consists of the departments of Computer Science, Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis, and the School of Interdisciplinary Informatics. Spyridon (Spyros) Mastorakis is expected to receive his PhD in June 2019 from UCLA and is joining the Computer Science department at UNO as an Assistant Professor in August 2019. His research interests revolve around the area of Future Internet, network systems, IoT, edge computing, and networks and systems security. Spyros is currently looking for 1 (potentially 2) motivated and innovative Ph.D. student(s) with background in systems, networking, communications, and security and privacy to join his research team in August 2019 or January 2020 with full financial support.

The students will be involved in cutting-edge projects with: (i) research outcomes that are expected to be published at top tier venues (ACM SIGCOMM, IEEE INFOCOM, USENIX NSDI, ACM MobiCom, USENIX Security, etc.), (ii) systems development opportunities (active participation on the design and development of the codebase), and (iii) standardization opportunities (within the Internet Research Task Force ICN Research Group and other communities). Students will be given the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from top-tier US institutions (such as MIT, UCLA, and UT Austin) and corporations (such as Google, Intel, and Cisco Systems).
