休斯顿大学 招收1-2名博士生 电力系统方向 (Power Systems)

大家好, 课题组继去年招了2名博士生, 今年继续招收博士生, 1-2名。招生具体情况如下:


休斯顿大学ECE学院招收1-2名电力系统方向的博士生，提供全额奖学金，可以覆盖学费和生活费。入学时间在2020年1月春学期或8月秋学期; 优先选择2020年1月春学期可以入学。欢迎感兴趣的同学申请，请将简历和成绩单发我邮箱xli83@central.uh.edu；如果有托福、GRE成绩，也请发给我。2020年春学期入学申请截止日期是10月15日。有兴趣来美国进行长期或短期交流的老师和学生，也欢迎联系我。

研究方向
•        电力系统运行、分析、优化（如机组组合，经济调度），新能源并网，N-1故障分析，拓扑控制，网络安全，储能在电力系统中的应用，分布式发电，微网电源规划、能量管理等

要求
•        对科研感兴趣，对电力系统方向感兴趣
•        有相关研究经验，编程能力，数学基本功，有优化背景更好
•        会用一些常见电力系统软件，比如PSS/E, Matpower,  OpenDSS
•        会用一些常见数学优化工具，比如, AMPL, Cplex, Gurobi, Glpk

Opening for 1-2 fully-funded PhD positions

Dear all,

1-2 fully funded PhD positions are available in my group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston (UH). The expected start time is January 2020 or August 2020, with a preference of January 2020. I am seeking for self-motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are interested in academic research in the power area. If interested, please send your full CV and transcripts to xli83@central.uh.edu; please also send me your GRE/TOEFL scores if available.

Competitive candidates are expected to have:
•        background in power system operations, reliability and optimization, and/or background in microgrid optimal sizing and energy management
•        programming skills, including Java, Python/Pyomo, Matlab, AMPL
•        experience with power system software such as PSS/E, Matpower, or OpenDSS
•        experience with optimization tools such as cplex, gurobi, glpk

The University of Houston is classified as “R1 (Tier 1) - research universities (highest research activity)” in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. In the 2019 U.S. News and World Report, the UH Cullen College of Engineering ranked #69 and the electrical engineering ranked #59.
