Austin这个城市其实不小了  单就人口而言比seattle和boston都多 是个新兴的科技城市 lz听说过“silicon hills”吗 说的就是austin
.. cs的placements听说特别好 这儿科技公司很多 留当地的话很多进dell（规模最大） 10年fb还新在austin downtown开了个office 去加州发展的也很多
学费低 生活费也低  2年下来花费比神马ucla省太多了  
不过austin夏天真心热 女生注意小心晒伤

翻了下wiki，这段可能对lz有用：

Austin就location而言和UIUC不相上下。。。不过貌似更偏一点，就更安全些了

Austin城市真心好，除了热以外，其他基本没什么可挑剔的了。。。而且对于EECS来说地里位置应该算除了加州最好的地方了。。。

话说就是因为相当实惠所以开始拿到的时候觉得就算别的学校不要了去Austin也不错～不过加州的气候真心好而且地理位置不错～～

也得看学校的位置吧，至少ucla和sd都还比较安全～

加州地理位置肯定是最好的；如果钱是一个concern，就去austin
ucsd ucla ut 这些学校出来的cs placements都没什么可挑剔的 不会因为你所说的“偏”而受影响
听我认识的一些在ut读cs的朋友说 ut的毕业生还是有不少很想留在austin
毕竟相同的生活水平 austin 5w、6w一年能达到的  湾区恐怕得8w-10w的年薪
