Ph.D. Openings at WPI Robotics Engineering (in Control and Cyber-Physical Sys)

Two Ph.D. positions with research assistant appointments are available in the Robotics Engineering Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Massachusetts, USA. The positions are expected to start in fall 2020. The candidates will work with Dr. Xiangrui Zeng on research projects in the areas of automotive, robotics, and mobility systems. Specifically, the research topics include:
• Connected and automated vehicle control
• Intelligent transportation system control
• Mobility cyber-physical systems
• Data-enhanced optimal control and reinforcement learning

Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related majors
• Experience in Python or Matlab
• Knowledge in control theory and machine learning
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening
• Passion for solving challenging problems in dynamic systems and control, reinforcement learning, au-
tomotive, transportation, robotics, and cyber-physical systems
• Preferred: research experience with peer-reviewed publications in related fields
