有打算2020 Fall 远程开始的PhD吗？大家签证怎么处理 ？

我在西岸的学校 天啊你们不网课吗 没fellowship也就算了还要交学费。。。唉

我特地问了下，如果政府不给政策让国际生远程注册的话是不是就只能defer了，她说是这样。不过她也说这个不用太担心，因为我们国际学生处已经说了可以enroll，应该八九不离十了吧可能只是具体细节还在交涉中。

没什么看中的 反正也饿不死

我们系好像是说不在美国境内就不能发stipend  也不能做research  只能remote上课。。

emmm其实我无所谓  我就是怕我老板不高兴因为一个学期不做research🌞

和老板提前商量好，把所有的顾虑都说清楚，看对方能否能否接受，多多问问吧

phd在读，分享一个我们系现在的关于RA/TA的决定。Remote TA/RAships can be arranged at the discretion of the department chairs only for students who will be working remotely from within the United States. Please note that remote RAship with continuing international students living outside the US may be requested by submitting an email to ***, Dean of Research and Graduate Studies and including specifics of the situation. She will make a determination in consultation with ***, Human Resources. In general, the request must meet both of the following conditions, (1) that the work is a continuation of a research project that was not completed due to the closing of the campus and (2) that it cannot be delayed and including the reason why. Please include any other information that may be relevant to the decision. No new RA or TA positions can be approved for remote work outside the country. International students living within the US can continue working in TA/RAship positions remotely while only during the period that campus is officially closed due to the COVID-19 situation. Please also note the university is unable to pay stipends to new international students who are unable to arrive on campus at the start of their program.

刚收到的邮件更新，坐标Duke：（1）可以申请defer到2021fall，一旦defer需要退还I20（2）可以向院系申请上网课，并且获得学费免除，但不在美国境内无法获得stipend，而且必须在2021年秋季到达美国才能继续学业（3）在上网课的同时等待签证，并在获得签证后立刻去美国开始线下课的可能性未知，等待ICE进一步解释
