Machine Learning Engineer (MLE)

Tencent Games are looking for senior level (3+ years) machine learning engineers to join our team.

The position will have the opportunity to work on many popular mobile games on a wide array of topics with focus on production advanced machine learning models in big data platforms.   Automate data pipelines and machine learning workflows from a massive amount of data generated by our players every second. We work on a range of interesting and challenging problems, ensuring the player's best experience in the game. We look to the senior engineers to raise the level of execution and automation of ML processes,  be technical leaders with both depth of knowledge and broad influence. In addition, they have strong communication skills and are comfortable working with a cross-functional team in an international environment.


About the Job:
This is an individual contributor role with significant impact both within the machine learning team and on the product team(s) you will collaborate with.
You are a hands-on builder of machine learning software components at production level.
You are detail oriented and with a mindset of thinking out of the box for continuous innovation.
You are a culture maker and leader as well.  Engineering is what you do and what you love.
Building the best team culture regarding the best engineering process and best practice for machine learning, continuous growth with the team and learn the most cutting edge knowledge and techniques to bring the best to the table.
Working with data science, data engineers, product managers to develop internal tools for various business partners and games.


About You:
Have 3+ years of industry experience using machine learning to solve real-world problems with large datasets.
Have a Master and above degree in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science or equivalent self study and experience.
Have strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, or other equivalents and fluency in data manipulation (SQL, Spark and others) and machine learning (scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras/Tensorflow) tools.
Have a strong basis on data structure, programming efficiency to optimize the algorithms and knowing the underlying math.
Have experience in Docker, K8s related Devops framework.
Have experience leading multiple projects of varying scope and complexity in more than one problem space.
Are a technical leader who is comfortable handling projects of significant complexity and ambiguity.
Are a strong communicator who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders across all levels.


Location:
Los Angeles/Palo Alto (COVID19 period: open to remote work; have to be physically in the US).
