美国马萨诸塞大学阿默斯特分校计算机理论组全奖博士招生：
导师Hung Le是越南人，postdoc期间导师是acm fellow - Valerie King。他近三年每年都在FOCS和SODA上发表文章，学术极其严谨，为人很nice。
Hung帮助Valerie指导过我的硕士学习，所以我很确定他将来的博士生会跟他学到很多很多东西。

I am looking for two Ph.D. candidates working with me from Fall 2021 (application due by December 15, 2020). I am mainly interested in theoretical computer science; some core focus areas include:

Graph Algorithms

Metric Embedding

Distributed Computing

Successful candidates will have the freedom to explore other theoretically-motivated research topics and will be part of our amazing theory group. An ideal candidate should have a solid background in mathematics. Having awards in math/programming competitions is a big plus. GRE is NOT required for PhD applications.

想问下Lz 目前我看美国新闻宣传禁止中国学生申请IT领域的，搞得我很犹豫呢....我都不知道该不该继续申博....因为我看中了你们学校的一个俄罗斯女导师.... AI方向的......

美国政策最近是比较多变，我也没很认真的看美国政策，你可以多了解一下是针对所有中国学生，还是只是特定学校的中国学生。其实我是在加拿大读的，我硕士期间Hung有指导我，我的犹太人导师都觉得Hung很不错。umass其他老师我就不了解了哈

我现在先工作。假设读博我也不会太想留在同个学校或者同个导师，每个学校/导师的长处都不一样，这样可以多跟不同的人学习

楼主您好，想问下UMASS CICS对phd申请者的T,G要求多少，网站上没有写的很具体，只是写托福要求95，但是据我了解，有托福低于95甚至是90的录取的。而且我看不是说，录取名单是committee决定嘛？Prof不是无法决定嘛？谢谢了！！
