周四总统辩论新规则：辩论委员会会在每段开始时对候选人的话筒进行静音处理

9月29日，特朗普和拜登之间的第一场总统辩论因时常不切主题和明显的中断而广受批评。在经历了混乱的第一场总统辩论之后，总统辩论委员会决定在周四的总统辩论前宣布修改辩论规则。

根据新规则，总统特朗普和民主党总统候选人乔-拜登将在每段15分钟的辩论开始时，各自有两分钟的不间断发言时间。委员会宣布："在这两分钟的时间里，只有根据规则拥有发言权的候选人的麦克风才会开放"。之后，将会设有讨论时间，此时两位候选人的话筒都将打开。这是为了让特朗普和拜登在最后一场总统辩论中都拥有更公平的时间来回答问题。

特朗普竞选团队在一份声明中表示："不论“有偏见”的委员会是不是在最后一刻修改规则，特朗普方面都会尽全力与拜登进行此次辩论。"

The Sept. 29 debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden was widely criticized for its off-the-rails nature and lack of structure. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced changes to the debate rules ahead of Thursday's final presidential debate.

Under the new rules, President Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will each have two minutes of uninterrupted time to speak at the beginning of every 15-minute segment of the debate. "The only candidate whose microphone will be open during these two-minute periods is the candidate who has the floor under the rules," the commission announced. After that, there will be time for discussion with both candidates' microphones open. It's an effort to allow Trump and former Vice President Biden more equitable time to answer questions in the final presidential debate.

In a statement, the Trump campaign said it was "committed to debating" Biden "regardless of last minute rule changes from the biased commission in their latest attempt to provide advantage to their favored candidate."  source
