美国俄亥俄州 肯特州立大学(Kent State University)航空与工程学院认知机器人和人工智能实验室Cognitive Robotics and AI Lab(CRAI)实验室(主页:https://ruiliurobotics.weebly.com) 计划招5名自费暑期实习生。 CRAI由刘博士于2019年在肯特成立,旨在开展世界级的机器人认知研究 --- 给机器人和人工智能系统设计“大脑”(基于AI算法,认知科学, 心理学 和脑神经科学的认知模型),从而让机器人与人类无缝地合作。实验室经过1年半的发展,已经取得了重大的学术进步。队伍有来自美国和中国高校的优秀学生加入;无人机基础研究已经被多个美国联邦政府基金支持;目前为止,我们有多达20人次参与科研项目,投出大概13篇top-tier文章(2~3篇接近被接受);2篇文章在今年暑假被机器人顶会RSS的workshop录用并给学术讲座;多机器人信任机制研究被IEEE ROMAN2019提名为最佳会议论文;和其它美国高校建立的广泛的合作关系;实习过的本科硕士实习生均被美国或者其它国家名校的Robotics/AI/CS研究生项目录取。
Dr. Liu is an Assistant Professor in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE), Kent State University, OH, since 2019 July. He directed the Cognitive Robotics and AI lab (CRAI, ruiliurobotics.weebly.com), with a focus of cognitive robotics research -– designing the “Mind” for robotics and AI systems for seamless cooperation with a human. From 2018-2019, Rui received his postdoc training at Carnegie Mellon University, the Robotics Institute (School of Computer Science), advised by the leading robotics scientist Prof. Katia Sycara. In 2018 Spring, he got his Ph.D. degree from the Colorado School of Mines Department of Mechanical Engineering, advised by Prof. Xiaoli Zhang. Before that, He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China and worked as a research engineer in the Chinese Academy of Science.
He has finished more than 30 top-tier publications. He currently serves as a committee member for multiple leading robotics/AI conferences AAMAS, IROS, ICRA; he is also a reviewer for more than 15 high-impact journals/conferences, including leading AI/robotics conferences AAMAS, ICRA and Jounals IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics. In the leading robotics&AI conference IEEE ICRA 2015 and IEEE RO-MAN 2019, his works have been nominated as the best paper award. From 2019~2020, Dr. Liu's research received two funding awards from US Federal Agencies with more than $1.34 million amount.
