Ph.D. Opening with Full-Scholarship Position Description
Dr. Jida Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, the University of Illinois at Chicago. He leads the DREAM (Design for Robotics Evolution and Advanced Manufacturing) lab at UIC. DREAM lab thrust research on the areas of design, robotics, and manufacturing. Specifically, we aim to study the problems occurring in design for customization, personalized product design, design for additive manufacturing, and robotic-assisted manufacturing by using computational methodologies such as generative design, geometry processing, data analytics, and geometric deep learning. The research objective is to establish a computational framework and basis for the smart manufacturing systems. For more information, please see Dr. Huang’s website: https://dream.lab.uic.edu/. About UIC. Located in the heart of one of the world’s great cities, UIC is a vital part of the educational, technological and cultural fabric of the region. As Chicago’s only public research university with more than 33,000 students, 16 colleges, a hospital and a health sciences system, UIC provides students access to excellence and opportunity.
