Univ. of Alabama PhD in Transportation Engineering 2021 Summer/Fall

Position description
The Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) program in the Department of Civil, Construction, & Environmental Engineering at the University of Alabama is seeking highly motivated students for a graduated research/teaching assistant position (Summer/Fall 2021)to conduct research in the field(s) of:
1. Trip and trajectory data mining and urban computing
2. Autonomous shared mobility system and reinforcement learning
3. Transportation network modeling & interdependent networks in transportation.

Applicants with strong optimization/network science/programming skills (Matlab, Python, Java) are encouraged to apply.  A master's degree in Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, CS, or relevant fields is preferred. Previous research/industry experiences with data processing, visualization, and knowledge of optimization software are preferred.

Accepted Ph.D. students will be provided with full financial support (including scholarship and tuition waiver) from Fall/Summer 2021 and beyond.
