ISU今年是要GRE的，我还没有开始第二步，暂时还不清楚。

3/12号的邮件：
On the basis of your pre-application to our graduate program we would like to invite you to submit an official application to graduate school at Iowa State University. It is our full intention to admit you to the Statistics graduate program and make an offer of financial aid in the form of a Teaching Assistantship. In order for us to do so, we need the application to become official and to have the Office of Admissions verify official copies of transcripts and other documents associated with your application. There is no need to include letters of recommendation with your official application as we have already made the decision that we want to admit you with financial support. None of this can become formal until you have submitted a full application to Iowa State University, but we consider it a commitment on our part as long as you do submit that application and we get verification from the Office of Admissions that the information contained in your pre-application was accurate.

我的一个老师在ISU拿的博士学位，他是本科毕业后去的，顺带拿了statistics的硕士，然后回母校当副教授了

这个stat水平很高！恭喜！
看了lz其他offer，只论stat学术水平isu远胜其他几所

个人不推荐这个学校，曾经是老牌的系，现在因为地理位置的原因，好的faculty大量出走，新人里面优秀的人也不愿意来。地理位置差导致就业和东西岸以及德州芝加哥差距很大。

而且ISU的其他学科水平不行，尤其是cs，ee等学科偏弱。如果你想做机器学习之类的会比较麻烦。作为过来人我的感觉是统计行业的专业排名不重要，地理位置和方向最重要。

感谢！很有用的信息。BU其实是四个学校里我自己排最低的学校了，应该很快会decline

如果是以后毕业去业界，Boston有很多biotech和药厂，BU的PhD去业界还是很方便的。地理位置的原因对找工作也很重要，Iowa这个地方要慎重
