Syracuse IM的一些信息

10月初得的AD，我目前并没有入学。昨天我问了一下小蜜IM应该读哪些参考书，他给了我一个email地址。原本我以为是一个人的，后来才发现这是一个IM current student的list email.一夜过来有好几个人回复了我，其中有一些有用的信息。地里关于雪城IM的信息不多，所以来分享一下。
A同学：
There is really no prerequisite for this program. Its more of a management program than a technical course. So its more about how proactive you are in class rather than studying books back home.
But, you must register for your course within maximum 1 hour of the registrations opening since the courses at ISchool get filled up pretty quickly. The only homework which you can do is plan out your course as in which course to take which semester, under which professor and so on.

我回复说英语不是我的母语，management方面可能有困难，他的回复：
Yes, I am in the IM program. English is not much of an issue here. If you have proper credentials and proper grades, you are going to be picked up by top companies. I have got many international friends here. I believe you are Chinese. Correct me if I am wrong. Atleast, your written English is pretty good. So do not worry about the language barrier. It is a very trivial issue. If you are interested in IM, Syracuse is the place to be. ISchool is the top graduate school for IM. Do let me know if you have any other queries.

B同学：
First congs to your admission to IM program, ranking 1 in U.S.A. I am the first year graduate student in IM. Can you describe your career vision or related experience to me? Generally speaking, IM program has three directions: data science, Human-Computer Science and Project Management & Resource Planning.

顺便问下大神们这三个方向选哪个会比较好？

Most of the classes are ok on reading, just one of my class is heavy with reading.

For the 645 class you’ll have to read huge amount of reading, so you’d better read it ahead- PMBOK, 6th edition+ Schwalbe – Information technology project management  + Software Project survival Guide(McConnel), I recommend this class with Tom Uva if you want to work as manager sometime.

But you’ll have to know these books by heart for the PMP certification if you need one. Also you can start studying Databases- DB class if mandatory. (but I did not pass it, so do not know the program to recommend reading)

其他还有推荐一些书的，不过估计比较难找。有人想要的话留言我再贴出来吧。

申请时上传扫描件，录取之后再寄。
