We would like to invite self-motivated and qualified candidates to apply for PhD and Postdoc positions to work on interdisciplinary research projects at the crossroads of information and communication
technologies and biomedicine to join Dr. Bige D. Unluturk's research team in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Institute for Quantitative Health Sciences and Engineering (IQ) at Michigan State University.
We are looking for candidates with electrical engineering, computer engineering, biomedical engineering or related degrees to work in the broad area of wireless communications, sensor networks, Internet of Things, and machine learning with emphasis on molecular communications, biological communications, bio-cyber interfaces, Internet of Bio-Nano Things, and their applications to healthcare.
MSU IQ — the Institute for Quantitative Health Sciences and Engineering — is dedicated to basic and applied research at the intersection of engineering, human medicine, and natural science. We've recruited faculty from some of the top academic centers around the world. They collaborate across disciplines to push the envelope of biomedical research, solving some of the most pressing problems in medicine with smart engineering solutions.
MSU ECE - The Electrical and Computer Engineering department has strong interdisciplinary research and educational programs on a foundation of core electrical and computer engineering disciplines and provides first-class education while engaging in research at the frontiers of knowledge. The Department has 57 faculty members, including two National Academy of Engineering members, 16 IEEE Fellows, 14 NSF CAREER and 3 DARPA YFA awardees. The Department has strong research programs in all major areas of electrical and computer engineering, with annual research expenditures of about $15M. Faculty in the Department are leading several federal and industry-supported centers, including the NSF Science and Technology Center BEACON, the Fraunhofer Center for Coatings and Diamond Technology, and the Connected and Autonomous Networked Vehicles with Active Safety (CANVAS) research center. The Department has accredited B.S. degree programs in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The current enrollment is approximately 250 full-time graduate students and 870 undergraduate students.
