Ph.D. positions starting in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 are available in the Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering at State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton. The prospective students will have the opportunity to get involved in research projects funded by both federal and industry sponsors such as Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), IBM, and SUNY. The prospective students will receive full doctoral-level financial support with a tuition waiver.


Research interests
Statistical modeling, machine learning, and data fusion with applications in complex healthcare and engineering systems:
•        Statistical learning: big data analytics, multi-level modeling, multi-source data analytics, sparse learning, transfer learning
•        Quality engineering: complex systems modeling, monitoring, and control
•        Healthcare: medical decision making, i.e. disease screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and patient care
Students from all science or engineering majors, especially Statistics, Math, EE, and CS, are encouraged to apply.
