The Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab (https://fzhao.engr.tamu.edu) in the Department of BiomedicalEngineering at Texas A&M University is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct a NIHfundedcardiovascular tissue engineering project. Highly motivated PhDs with background in tissueengineering, biomaterials, biology, or any other relevant disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply to thisposition. Prior experience in cardiovascular tissue engineering is preferred, but not strictly required.The successful candidate will be expected to design and perform experiments, analyze data, writemanuscripts/reports, present research outcomes at conferences, as well as supervise graduate andundergraduate students. Research duties include, but are not limited to:
• Cell and tissue cultures
• Cell and tissue characterization by immunofluorescent staining, histology staining, ELISA, flowcytometry, western blotting, RT-PCR, zymography, etc.
• Biomaterial characterization by FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XRD, etc.
• High resolution cell and tissue imaging
• Image analysisPrior experience with liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy (LC-MS), RNA-seq samplepreparation/data analysis, measurement of membrane potential, calcium transient, and contractile forcegenerated by cultured cardiomyocytes is preferred.
