佛罗里达大学 U of Florida Civil (Transportation) Engineering PhD Position

SERMOS Lab is hiring!


SERMOS Lab (https://faculty.eng.ufl.edu/sermos-lab/) is looking for a motivated Ph.D. student to join our team in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida (ranked Top 5 public university in the U.S.)! The qualified candidate should have strong programming and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and demonstrated expertise in AI, data science, systems engineering, or a related analytical field.


The successful candidate will work on two or more of the following areas:

• AI methods and applications in travel behavior modeling and evacuation behavior modeling
• Spatio-temporal analytics for emerging large-scale datasets (e.g., GPS data)
• Real-time decision-support tool development
  

The new hire will work as a graduate research assistant in our lab. We provide highly competitive pay and opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers around the world. SERMOS Lab is led by Dr. Xilei Zhao, Assistant Professor in Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida. We invent and apply computational and data science methods to create smart, equitable, resilient mobility systems. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of transportation engineers, urban planners, computer scientists, statisticians, and industrial and operations engineers.

导师简介
Dr. Xilei Zhao 是佛罗里达大学土木与海岸工程系的助理教授。Dr. Xilei Zhao于2016年和2017年分别获得约翰霍普金斯大学（JHU）应用数学与统计学硕士学位及土木工程博士学位。她于2017年至2018年在密歇根大学工业与运营工程系担任研究员，2018年至2019年在佐治亚理工学院工业与系统工程学院担任博士后研究员。 她的研究方向为应用数据科学（尤其是数据分析、机器学习和模拟）、复杂系统建模和风险评估来解决交通系统中的问题。
