求比较 | UCSD CS75 vs Northwestern MSCS

小弟求各位学长学姐们看看 本科中途转专业转到cs的学了两年 心怀一腔cs科研热血 本科也做了一些研究工作 感觉蛮有意思的 之后第一目标是读完ms继续读phd
UCSD 还是西北？
我感觉都挺好的 老师都挺好的 都很厉害
主要是西北相对ucsd来说规模小 方向比较窄 最近我看前几年新来了做RL等的新大牛老师 而且有一点西北网站上提到了：sometimes a faculty member may decide to formally invite a successful MS student to transfer into the PhD program. The faculty member must notify the CS Director of Graduate Admissions of this invitation before the CS department will consider a student’s petition to transfer. 意思是表现出色可以直接转phd 这个我在LinkedIn上也看到好几例

UCSD我看好多老师也在招ms进组 而且我看好多前辈也都继续读了PHD 比较符合预期 方向也有喜欢的 但是ucsd人太多了会不会人卷人呀？毕竟一届的人数都是西北的差不多四五倍了 不知道论坛里有没有前辈有类似的经历或者看法～

看你有没有感兴趣的老师。找工作感觉可以无脑ucsd。西北这边老师对ms进组比较友好，只要想找都能找到老师进组。转博也是看老师的，有不少也去了外校。总的来说科研氛围略高于招工氛围。
