C++ practice

Very glad to find this forum.  


I am in the mid level for my current career.  Currently leading a small team doing sensor fusion for automatated driving.   Previous background is in powertrain control, longitudinal control and lateral control for automative cars.  Educational background is ME and focusing on control side.  Currently is using C++ for sensor fusion but started to learn and use the C++ in about 1 year ago.   For the control theory or sensor fusion algorithim or other algorithm related to automated driving (such as localization, HD map , etc)   I am pretty familiar and has rich experience.  But for coding I am not strong.   A few HC contacted me for interviews but always failed on the coding round.  Generally coding round is the the 2nd or 3rd round.  I am not sure if I need to practice the C++ in HackerRank or Leetcode as I am already in mid-level (technical lead) for my career and my next move is trying to get a management role.   I am alos surprised that even for management role for startup,  they still want to do coding interview .  (maybe the management role also needs to be hand on)
