关于OSU的ME的PHD的一些小米回复信息

很早就拿到了Phd的AD，由于自己科研比较渣，所以套磁无力，今天问了一下小米关于PHD的Fellowship、GTA和GRA评选，小米回复如下：
In regards to a Fellowship or GTA position, unfortunately you were not nominated for a Fellowship and your TOEFL Speaking score falls below the required score by OSU to be eligible as a new GTA. As of right now, your best chance at finding support comes by way of reaching out to faculty and looking for an RA position.


其实这也没什么，口语只有22，科研经历不强，Fellowship和TA本来就不是很指望，关键是后面关于RA，小米又加了一句：


In most situations faculty would like to see how you do first before committing to support, so they you may need to support yourself for at least a year before you get a funding commitment, but I would encourage you to reach out to faculty first as it’s always possible you could get funding outright, hence you need to be proactive and contact faculty. The vast majority of PhD students find support after their first year (95%+).


大家注意最后一句。。。按他的意思他们家找的Phd只有5%能拿到RA。。。跪了。。果然是AD狂魔学校。。太不靠谱了


希望这些信息对大家有用，跟我背景差不多的同学对这个学校不要抱太大希望，及早去关注别的学校。。。攒点RP为了后面的学校

感觉并没有如此悲观吧 为何我理解最后一句的意思 是第一年以后,有support的人占95%了？ 还是挺积极的啊
