哥大Masters in data science新消息

看见大家讨论admission的问题，于是上网听了一下info session，大约50分钟的时候回答了什么时候发admission的问题。关键要点如下：1.审核已经开始，但州政府还没有批准这个项目。 2.4月末之前会发录取结果. 3.如果届时拿到了州政府的批准，则皆大欢喜. 如果没拿到，institute期望会获得将申请人录入其他collaborate program的能力，同时等待政府的批准。

4月末啊？具体没有时间嘛？这很多学校4月15就要决定了啊

哎，4月15号一道坎了！哥大还是很努力的，不理解这个州政府办事效率这么差！真是毁前途的州政府啊

这也太慢了……

其他collaborate program包括cs吗

好慢，早知道申请哥大其他项目了

哥大 institute of data science 里面怎么没有了 MSin Data science的版块？ 是不是取消了还是怎么的。。。 ？

美东时间周六下午3点半刚收到邮件，通知如下：

Thank you for applying to the Master of Science in Data Sciences program in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.  At this point in time, it appears that we are unable to offer you admission to the Master of Science in Data Science program as the program has not yet been approved by the New York State Education Department. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science currently offers other Masters programs in similar fields that may interest you.  Among these programs is the Master of Science in Computer Science, which can accommodate training in the data sciences.  The School of Engineering and Applied Science welcomes you to apply.                                                

If you decide to apply for admission to the Master of Science in Computer Science class entering in fall 2014, please contact me in writing by email or letter.  We will waive the application fee, and you will not need to submit a new application, as we can review your candidacy for this program based on your prior application.  Columbia has extended this offer to all applicants of the Master of Science in Data Sciences program, and it is not in any way a comment on the strength of your application to Master of Science in Computer Science.
