好 感谢楼主！

info session 里将如果换cs personalize track发邮件给J, 他不会回邮件除非你特别要求一个confirmation。我周六给他回的换，他昨天好像统一给已回的人发了未来7到10天出结果。

For those who request(ed) the application transfer for consideration to the Master of Science in Computer Science, you will be held to the admissions standards for the School of Engineering, and degree requirements for the Master of Science in Computer Science program.  Admissions decisions for this alternative will take some additional time to process; however, we have streamlined the application review process and hope to provide decisions fairly quickly should you decide to move forward with this option. You will not need to provide any additional application materials.

刚刚听完今天的info session
以下是我自己比较想了解的重点，贴出来给大家看：

1. 这个program一定会在spring 2015前 approved。
2. 如果你选择继续等，只要program在开学前通过，都可以在今年fall入学。如果在fall中通过，你的申请会被移到明年的fall，因为他们不准备在spring招生。
3. 如果你transfer到cs，而且准备选择personalized track，你可以选和data science program一模一样的curriculum。而且可以在他们approved以后再内部转回data science，只要填张表格就好了。这个是他们最推荐的，和data science最一致的program。
4. 你不需要有任何cs的背景去转cs，transfer applicants 是单独被review的，不用和其他申请cs的学生竞争，按照ds的标准录取。尽管如此，竞争还是非常激烈，她说600+人完成申请，500+人未完成申请。但是具体有多少人继续等，多少人转cs还没有统计。如果你想转cs，只要发邮件通知Jonathan就可以了，不需要做额外事情。
5. 他们这周五就会开始review applications，rolling basis。


下面是他们的ppt，贴给没有参加info session的人看：

我是第一批申的，昨天给的回复，收到我转CS的要求。再等等吧。info session上说第一批的人这个礼拜五开始review

最重要的是 2000多人难道都录取么。。。。到了六七月份再给你个拒信就笑了。虽然我一直都说哥大水，但哥大再水，今年也招了不少CS了，还能有几个名额呢？

今年的MS in data science 仍就在等纽约州的批准，不确定能不能赶上Fall 2014.如果在九月后被批准，有可能是推迟到 2015 Spring 或是2015 Fall.
哥大现在给出的选择是：

1. withdrawal
2. waiting in queue for the data science approval
3. transfer to MS in CS with training in data sciences (personalized track)
4. transfer to other Engineering major
5. transfer to other department except for engineering majors.

因为我已经在星期六回了Johnathan说要transfer to personalized track of CS, 所以我这里只关注相关的信息。

1. personal track in CS 的录取标准同data science，admission committee 大部分是DS 的教授，也有几个CS的教授
2. CS personal track 录取的人数等同 DS
3. candidate pool of personal track in CS is seperate from the normal CS, which is more of like data science
4. 转CS 后 可以选和 DS 几乎相同的课程
5. 第一批的applicants 可能会在下礼拜末通知结果
6. 一旦被CS personal track 录取， 可享受等同其他CS学生的一切资源。
7. 转CS的人，仍可以去各种DS 的 center 参与research
8. 一旦 DS 被 纽约州 approved, 现在转申CS personal track的学生可以自愿转回 DS
9. 到目前为止，没有数据显示从 DS 转到 CS personal track 的人数，但是强调了很competitive
10. full-time program in CS personal track is 1 year, 不能extend graduation to 1.5 years. But part-time one could be 1.5 years
11. 如果被personalized CS 据了以后，不能再次申请同期的DS。但可以申请明年下一批的DS.
12. 不能同时申请 transfer to personalized CS 和 waiting in queue for the data science approval. 只能2选一


关于这个personalized CS program 是一年还是1.5 年 的问题，我本人有很大的疑问。据我听到的是只有1年。但是貌似另外一个4.15 info session 的帖子说是1.5年。望知道的人给个答案。我个人倾向这个项目最好是1.5年的。
