1. University and Lab
The Université Libre de Bruxelles is located in brussels which is the capital of belgium and the capital of the european union. The university is famous and has a long history since the foundation in 1834.
IRIDIA is a world-leading research laboratory in computational intelligence and has a staff of researchers where 4 are permanent. IRIDIA also has a very international character, with researchers and visitors from more than 14 different countries.
One of the main projects in metaheuristics and optimization is with Prof. Thomas Stuetzle, who is a research director of IRIDIA. Students who are interested with this project are welcome to apply!!

2. Projects
The PhD projects are based on automated algorithm design and will propose automated algorithm configuration results in multi-objective optimization, in time-varying optimization and in stochastic optimization.

3. Requirements
- Background:
    Students from project 985 universities are better;
    Students has Master's degree in computer science or will graduate in june 2023;
    Students with a specification in operations research are better.
- Publication:
    Student should have at least one article in an international conference or journal.
- Language:
    Applicant must have an excellent level of English both on oral and writing.  

What is the most important is to have a strong willingness to learn and to do a PhD.

4. Funding
国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目（CSC）。
申请人应参加2023年3月的CSC申请。
