在page 213, 有link 兩篇paper 但我沒看完所以我理解的可能也不對

我的理解是consistent hashing 的理念 picking partition boundaries randomly 是可以用在 database的. 只是Karger提出的算法當partition的數量較大時需要有更大的memory/ computation overhead. 所以只適用於CDN(node 跟partition 少, hash table size就小). 所以另外一篇paper John 提出的jump consistent hash algorithm可以改善這個問題

借著這篇順便提個問題

consistent hashing的名字到底哪個部分consistent....
這個技術讀過好幾次，但是每次都會被consistent這個詞誤導 然後就心裡沒譜了

Dynamo 用的就是consistent hashing。这句话要不就是错了，要不就是有歧义（也不确定作者想表达啥）。
