Two Ph.D Position Openings at North Carolina A&T State University (Fall 2023 or Spring 2024)

Position description
Two Ph.D student positions are opened in Dr. Yang Chen’s group with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University (NCAT). The positions will be available from Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 with full doctoral funding support and tuition waiver.

The main research focus could be in the following areas:
1)        Market design and operations for local energy transactions
2)        Pre-event resilience enhancement & post-event power restoration
3)         Leaning-based decision making with applications in energy management

Basic requirements
•        Bachelor or master degree in relevant majors, like Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, management science etc.
•        Basic understanding in optimization modeling/simulation/machine learning with applications.
