2023 Fall Umich生统, Brown生统 offer求比较

Umich

pros：专业排名高，学术环境好，老牌生统项目，生活成本低，保证有GSRA/GSI机会，全奖
cons：地理环境差，找实习或工作难，人多竞争强，我没想读博

Brown

pros: 给了40% 学费补助，人少资源较多，靠近Boston等城市找工作实习比较容易
cons: 专业排名低，较贵，项目比较新，生活成本高

Both schools are good. From my perspective, the companies do not care that much about which school, except for Boston region, where Brown wins over UMich. For other parts of the states, I don't think they differ much. As for uni career resources, I never used it and didn't find it helpful. Students just search and send applications through Linkedin/Google anyways nowadays.

Thanks. I'm hoping to decide on a program that can easily land me a job right out of grad. I figured Brown would be the better option (many biostat positions near Boston area, weekly career seminars). But Umich gave me a better package and the cost of living is way cheaper. Do you by any chance attended one of these two schools?

不知道lz要找什么方向工作？找实习难度跟当年经济状况以及个人本科背景相关性 >> 地理位置影响
个人觉得如果保证gsi免学费的话去um其实还行 可以dual一个别的项目选课更flexible一点

-baidu 1point3acres理想的话是药厂或医疗方面的工作，但是其实只要有工作我都可以啦。我的背景是心理学，統計学，公共卫生。

如果MS毕业直接找药厂的工作，建议Brown。见过的MS直接去药厂的几乎都是藤校这种类型的。

如果想继续读博，umich更好。

建议选Brown, 私立比公立好，resources 好太多了，美东许多药企，找实习和工作优势多。

Nope. You shouldn't have a hard time find A JOB from either school when market is not depressed.
