Let me review the case with you again.
In early January 2023, I booked a flight Beijing-Hong Kong-LA (Operated by Cathay Pacific).
On 2/26/2023, at the Cathay Pacific front desk at the airport, they said that my Ticket Number and Airline Booking Reference did not exist.
At that time, I called the customer service of trip.com for inquiry.
After communicating with the front desk, trip.com customer service said that I could book another ticket for same flight then refund me.
I questioned why I couldn’t been transfered for another flight . Trip.com customer service said that I could only book one and then refund for legal reasons they can not transfer (but since it was urgent. The legal reasons were not explored in detail).
The customer service said that the refund ticket should have the same airline with the same itinerary and cabin, but there is no discounted basic economy cabin in the upcoming week. I do not want to wait for another week and after confirming with the customer service, I quickly booked the same flight on the next day 2/27/2023, a full-price economy, as premium economy ( again there is no discount basic economy in upcoming week for this flight and this is the only one left that has a mark on economy in 7 days.)
It cost me more than $4,000 in total. I even did not mention the delayed itinerary, hotel and covid PCR, etc. I double checked within the text customer service platform of trip.com with the information above as a record and on the chat I also sent the screenshot with my new booking with my booking number and carbin by that time.
Then after I arrived in the United States, I sent a lot of emails, contacted chat platforms for the refund, and finally got through to the complaint team on the fourth call. They even said that they had not received the receipt attached to my email (it turned out that they could not accept the pdf) and finally What's outrageous is that I just booked on trip.com for the new ticket and with the booking number I provide to customer service at the beginning(2/26/2023) , they can get the receipt for my second purchase of air tickets directly from the booking number.
After I received the last email about the refund of $500 for the first canceled booking, I believe you are about to refuse the refund of the refund Booking (No 22810955417).
I already scheduled several slots for civil lawyers about my case, I hope you understand I do not want to take a settle up of $500, I send you the booking to the customer service on 2/26 and confirm with your customer service, and I believe the reason you do not want to transfer me at the first time is just set up a trap to denied the new flight's refund and take advantage for my urgent booking.
