一封邮件，大家帮忙分析一下啊！！！

收到一封奇怪的邮件：
Because of your excellent scholastic record and on behalf of the members of our Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) - Iota Chapter, it is my pleasure to invite you to join Eta Kappa Nu, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society.  

HKN honors ECE students who have achieved substantial success academically, possess leadership qualities, and have fine character.  As eligible initiates, you are in the top 1/4 of your junior ECE class or top 1/3 of your senior ECE class.

As an HKN member, you would have the opportunity to network with other top students and past HKN members.  This opportunity leads to increased electrical and computer engineering knowledge, and gives you an inside track towards employment in many large corporations which currently employ past members.  Recent HKN graduates from our chapter have placed positions in companies like Garmin, Boeing, National Instruments, and Lockheed Martin, just to name a few.  Often, this membership in the honor society is an influencing factor in a company's decision to make a professional job offer.  As a member, you have many opportunities to communicate with faculty and the department head, Dr. Manring, on a personal basis.   

Our Iota chapter was one of the earliest HKN chapters, founded in 1911.  We hold meetings at the Heidelberg, and provide drinks and appetizers to members.  These meetings are a great way to take a break from engineering and socialize with other top students.  The chapter also provides many opportunities to provide service to the department and community, as well as to gain leadership experience.

最后，这个邮件说：
To become a lifetime member of HKN, you must reply to this email and pay a one-time membership fee of $70 to HKN

这个机构是不是骗人钱的啊，就像那个门萨俱乐部一样？值得参与么？大家帮忙分析下啊！！

不是……HKN是EECS最著名的一个组织了～和IEEE student chapter一个性质的东西。

晕。。lz居然说hkn骗人，这玩意是networking同学里的大牛，和resume上都很有用的。

还有taubetapi，这个都是top1的学生推荐进去的吧。

tbp里都是gpa超过3.9的大牛

lz你居然这样说我混了2年的组织。。。。泪奔了。。。。

HKN最近被IEEE吞并了,变成IEEE的honors unit了...
而且其实是ece honors society...但是凡是在eecs是一个系的学校全变成eecs honors society了。。。。
