被雷后领取政府失业金

每个州都会有自己的department of labor, 不同州额度不等，失业金大约每周几百刀，这个羊毛肯定要去撸

具体操作就是去搜一下unemployment benefit然后在州政府网站上注册账户，填问卷，等审批。

关于政府失业金大家主要的疑问就是会不会被USCIS认为是public charge影响以后的绿卡申请

楼主查了一下， unemployment benefit是不属于public charge的，大部分雇主都有购买unemployment insurance所以file for unemployment benefit约等于file a claim against insurance policy，是earned benefit

楼主所在的州规定了什么情况可以领取失业金，看上去PIP应该属于not meet employer‘s performance standard，是eligible的
You may be eligible for benefits if:

• You lost your job due to lack of work
• The temporary or seasonal employment ended
• Your job was eliminated
• There was an involuntary reduction in force
• The company downsized or shut down
• The company restructured or reorganized
• There was a lack of company operating funds/orders
• You were out of work for any other business reason that you did not choose or control
• Your employer discharged or fired you because you could not meet their performance or production standards, or their qualifications for the job

You may be denied benefits if you:

• Were fired because you violated a company policy, rule or procedure, such as absenteeism or insubordination
• Quit your job without good cause, such as a compelling personal reason
• Are out of work because of a work stoppage (except for lockouts) in the last 14 days that violated an existing collective bargaining agreement where you worked. (You need not actually take part in the strike, only be out of work because of it.)

楼主个人认为这跟immigration status是没有关系的，楼主个人的解读是able to work is different from authorized to work，所以H1B身份可以领取，当然有其他解读认为只有绿卡和公民才可以领取（因为法律要求申请人必须able to work）, 楼主无意争论，见仁见智吧


By law, the unemployment insurance program provides benefits to people who:

• Have lost employment through no fault of their own
• Are ready, willing, and able to work and

严格意义上只有被雷的人才可以领取，州政府网站问你失业原因，以及前雇主信息，可能会verify离职原因
谎报失业领取失业金的案例大概率是存在的，楼主个人觉得最好不要这样操作因小失大
