Thank you for applying to the University of Utah Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. program. This letter is to inform you that we have received your application, and it has made it through the preliminary admissions committee review.  Your application is still active, and we are still considering you for the PhD Program.

As part of the 2nd phase, your application information has been shared with our faculty, who will use it to review and select candidates to receive a Ph.D. offer. You may be invited to attend a one-on-one interview session via Zoom, in which case you will be contacted by the faculty member directly.  Many of our faculty have already started to make PhD offers to their top choices of candidates.  A majority of our faculty are still reviewing PhD applications and waiting for funding approvals before making offers.  We have not made a final decision yet regarding your application.

Once an admission decision is made you will receive an email notice, including a formal admission letter and specific details regarding our offer. If we have not yet received your official documents such as transcripts, exams, or letters of recommendation, please know that it can take 1 to 2 weeks from the time the University receives your documents to the time they are uploaded to our application system. We will continue to review your application while we wait to receive them, and it will not slow down our admission process.

套呀，有的老师可能比较忙想让committee先筛一遍的。而且套也没坏处
