理工类writing sample到底写不写

没强制要求要写  但是之前听过一个国外读博的学长说的  writing sample写好了可以增加亮点

writing sample主要突出的是什么？你的思维方式？学术潜力？写作能力？对该领域的见解（天哪……）？

如果写的不好跑偏了，还不如不写，是不是这个意思？

Harvard的小秘回复我的是：
We don’t require a writing sample with the Statistics application. I wouldn’t say that it is always better to include it. It is hard to say exactly because the faculty who make up the review committee may have different ideas on what they are looking for...so even if you include it, some faculty may not review it since it’s not a required part of the application. As long as it is a strong writing sample, I don’t think it would hurt you, but it also may not benefit you in any way.

所以，如果你对你的research paper很有信心的话就交吧~
