Advisor: Dr. Shezan is an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he directs the Cyber Guard Research Lab. His work focuses on security and privacy issues at the intersection of cyber-physical systems, medical healthcare, software engineering, and machine learning. Dr. Shezan's primary research interest lies in data-driven security and privacy analysis in cross-platform interactions of emerging systems. His goals include measuring the attack surface of IoT platforms, analyzing privacy leakages in interconnected home automation applications and medical healthcare systems, and investigating the enforcement of privacy policies. His research has been published in top-tier security, privacy, and systems conferences, including NDSS, UBICOMP/IMWUT, WWW, PoPETs, and SOUPS. Dr. Shezan's findings have been acknowledged by companies like Google and have resulted in the publication of several CVEs. During his Ph.D., he received notable recognitions, including the CPS Rising Stars award, the UVA Endowed Graduate Fellowship, and the Link Lab Outstanding Graduate Research Award. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department: The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the University of Texas at Arlington is ranked 60th nationally by csrankings.org (as of September 2023, based on average 2018-23 publication counts).
