There is an opening for a graduate student to study the solid state transformation of a dual-phase ceramic to a single phase entropy stabilized ceramic composition.  The project will involve extensive ceramic processing of model microstructures and microstructural characterization using advanced electron microscope techniques.  The modelling aspect of the project will build on earlier numerical simulations to incorporate induced transformation stresses as well as boundaries with different degrees of free volume.
