We now have openings for two fully funded PhD students (starting from Spring or Fall 2026) and one opening for a fully funded postdoctoral scholar (starting from Spring 2026). We also welcome research interns (remote or in-person) anytime. The prospective students will develop Generative AI models, including diffusion models and LLMs, and digital twin tools for manufacturing systems, and human-machine interaction and collaboration.
The ideal candidates should have a strong interest in smart manufacturing, human-machine teaming, and autonomous systems, as well as a solid background in math, be familiar in Python programming, and be willing to work with hardware. A Master's degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, manufacturing/industrial engineering, or related engineering areas in robotics is preferred.
