Yeah, commercial softwares like Fluent and starccm are for entry level students. For MS, it is better to get some experience in open source softwares and dig into the code for better understanding about physics and numerical methods. For PhD, we need to have full understanding and control of the research code.

No.

The school you want to get enrolled in, depends on what you have, not really what you want.

You can try combustion in some mid-west schools. Utah for example.

My supervisor does not allow any package to be installed on the computer. They said it was for security reasons. After all, we, don't sell software licence. We only sell problem-to-ppt solution.

仁兄搞CFD的？其实我也在犹豫，我之前做传统化工，分离方向，化工现在行情很差，尤其是油价下跌，产能过剩导致公司大量裁员。我硕士做CFD课题，总觉得CFD就业面比较广，仁兄可否交流下？
