求问大神什么时候有结果呢？之前看的帖子是说18号凌晨截止，可是后面还可以继续发的....求问

前天截至前写了一篇，tracking number是1jz-8mc2-6ysk，听说现在还能评论，所以也把自己写的贴出来分享

I am completely in favor of the OPT STEM Extension policy, because it benefits the whole USA greatly, and its advantage outweighs disadvantage.

First of all, the past extension has been proved that it facilitated domestic consumption, and as a result, made the economy thrive. According to NAFSA, international students contributed $26.8 billion in 2013-2014 fiscal year, which helped created over 340,000 jobs. It is no wonder because of the consumption needs given such a considerable number of international students.

Secondly, it is beneficial for science and technology development. Many well-known high-tech companies are founded by students that got OPT STEM extension, such as the founder of Instagram, Mike Krieger. These companies not only keep the leading status of USA in science and technology in the world, but also provide many jobs that significantly decrease unemployment.

Thirdly, the nature of STEM jobs requires extension. Research and development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics are time-consuming. Even for the relatively simpler projects, such web and system architecture development, still cost generally 18 months before they are ready for production. Obviously, one year OPT cannot fulfill such needs, and the companies would suffer loss. What is worse, if some talented students go back to their home countries and help their STEM development, that would make USA’s influence in STEM diminished.

Last but not the least, I quite understand the concern on whether the extension can increase unemployment of local citizens and cause immigrants flooding in USA, and the short answer is NO. Note that the extension only applies to STEM areas. But the currently unemployed are mainly the labor-intensive, the blue-collar and veterans, and the reason for that is domestic industrial upgrading and eliminating outdated production capacity. Even if no STEM Extension, that would not help them to get employed. Besides, annual H1B limit is 80,000, and so long as it does not change, the number of new immigrants will not increase dramatically.

Given the reasons stated above, I would support this new OPT STEM Extension policy.
