关于phd怎么给钱的问题

Po主近来拿到了两个比较想去的学校的phd offer，纠结去哪个中，但是对他们的finacial support不是很明白。

学校一说：
The SEAS and the Graduate School are pleased to offer you financial support that will cover your tuition ($39,800) and provide a stipend of $33,150 for the twelve-month period beginning August 31, 2016. This presumes that you will join a research group of a faculty mentor by June 1, 2017. Thereafter, your support is expected to be provided by a research assistantship with your faculty mentor. We will provide you financial support of at least an equivalent amount for five years, subject, of course, to your satisfactory progress toward the Ph.D. degree.

学校二说：
All students admitted to our Ph.D. program receive full financial support. This includes tuition, fees, and a cost-of living stipend ($2,850 per month before taxes in 2015-16).All Ph.D. students are required to participate in the educational program for about ten hours a week for one term—usually as a quarter time teaching fellow or in a similar capacity, during their second year of study.
Financial support takes several forms: fellowships, teaching fellowships, and research assistantships. Ordinarily, first-year Ph.D. students are supported with full fellowships so that they can devote all their time to coursework.
Beyond the first year, when students are in a better position to teach and assist in research, support is ordinarily provided through research assistantships, or a combination of a teaching fellowship and a research assistantship.

问题一：这个算是offer还是AD？
问题二：都只给一年的fellowship，第二年开始是要当TA，RA吧？当TA，RA的钱是谁出的呢？是老板么？如果老板不愿意出钱我是不是就要自己交学费了？
问题三：不是后面5年都要当TA对吧？那我不当TA的时候是不是就没有学费钱了？
问题四：他们是不是其实有不用当TA就能cover6年学费生活费的offer？那个叫什么？scholarship？我能找他们要么？

总之求论坛大大们系统地讲一下finacial support的问题。谢谢各位~~~~~~

1. 是offer
2. 第一年给fellowship是因为还没定导师，你可以在不做TA/RA的基础上多修点课，但这一年里你就会找到导师了，然后就可以成为他的RA。如果老师没钱你总是可以找别的老板的，如果实在想跟没钱的那个老板就只能跟系里申请TA了。
3. 据我所知一般没有五年TA的情况，again RA可以cover到你的钱。RA和TA钱差不多的，都是cover学费+另外给一些stipend生活费。不过我看一般phd都会要求做一两个学期的TA，因为如果你将来做faculty的话是一定要教书的，所以他提前让你体验下上课。
4. RA不用带课+可以cover学费，另外可以申fellowship，那个就是都不需要老板给你出钱啦！这种学校可能有一些，也有一些公司会有这种research fellowship，比如cs的phd有机会拿google，IBM，microsoft等等地方的fellowship。这种就会比较爽了，但是非常难申。

那是不是这两个offer的fina support的状况是一样的？
那要是老板想收你，但是坚持你一定要拿到fellowship呢？这种fellowship一般也只有两年左右吧？要是之后必然要G4的时候fellowship木有了老板会不会把你踢出去。。。。？fellowship对international超级困难呀。
. 1point 3 acres能做5年RA不......?

情况一样，可以做五年ra只要老板同意。慎重跟要你一定要拿到fellowship的老师啊！！！因为他可能没钱fund你呀！！那样只能自费了！

这个工资好高啊T.T
