休斯顿转CS 求帮助

大家好，我现在有些迷茫，希望大家能帮助出出主意。

我今年28岁，女，现在休斯顿一家CPA公司做会计。我要转专业的原因是我非常喜欢计算机，我做了很多性格测试，也显示我适合做软件工程师（女外在，男内核）。

我非常希望能够做一名软件工程师，理想是做智能技术方面的工作，希望能去google或Tesla。当然这只是理想，依我现在的水平，far away。

我在国内念完本科工商管理，美国念的会计硕士，GPA都不高，只有3.1。鉴于我要重头再来，我现在犹豫是重新念本科还是直接申请硕士。

我现在在休斯顿，而且因为家庭关系，2年内不会搬走。申rice应该没戏，UH和A&M可以试试。有绿卡，听坛子里的亲们说可以试试online项目？

如果真的要申请本科，那我还得去找高中要成绩单（毕业10年了）？而且还要付4年的本科学费，想想就不菲。

If the green card is not a your main issue, , there still tons of approach that you can try to become a coder. Beside earning another degree.

But to be honest, the reward is the thing that you need to concern deeply. It is not saying that becoming a programmer is a awful choice, but lots of those who try to study their second/third graduated degree in CS are working their ass for green card or whateverso. The process is time-consuming, you need to realize that what it your main goal to do this, seriously. It is not necessary to own a degree for obsessing in computer related fields.  

Back to your main question, UH is a school that I haven't heard any negative issue about the CS department but the positive ones. Also, Applying and getting admission to UH is not that competitive. Most of the alumni have great job in Austin and Houston. I consider UH will be the school for anyone who want to earn their post-ba or grad degrees. Online course is a proper way, also.

and UT Arlington do have decent reputation in the region.

Think twice, that is my only advice.

直接上MS吗，我还想从基础学起，再念一个本科呢。

当然是念master啊，本科还要上什么文学课之类的，读master只用上专业课，而且也可以和学校商量，让你先上本科的专业课。

德州的学校学费都很便宜，既然你喜欢编程，那就选个德州的学校去读master.
