个人觉得写的太宽泛了，可以读读人家论文，写的细一点。特别是他的research的highlight要突出啊。

我给他回复了一下一段“Dear Prof. XXX，
  I started my undergraduate degree object which is focus on designing the structure of fairing, modeling the antennas within the fairing and investigating the RF environment in it by FEKO and E-Pro. The paper is in preparation. This project made me have more experience on Electromagnetics.
  Now I have gotten the admission, can you provide me an opening? I want to know more about this.

你这个email没什么亮点。不大看得出你哪儿match，也不能一眼看出你已经拿到ad了。

而且说了句很不明智的话。

相互了解是个过程，没人会对一个不够了解的学生直接说可以给opening的。

不够细，泛泛而谈，看不出你真的做了功课。

要读paper，精确了解教授做什么具体内容。

然后结合背景，说一些match的点。这个就看你research功底。

所以学术套需要一些功底，或者吃点苦头多读paper多看书，临时学。


比如我当时一个套磁信，几个match的点。
1 教授的research有网络流量捕获的那块（我本科毕设做的这个）
2 网络real-time分析（我master做的real-time系统）
3 网络的economical perspective（我本科有一个economics双学位）

每个点都是要花很多时间去找的。这也可以算是学术套。
