Openings for Graduate Research Assistants at George Mason University
Graduate Research Assistant (GRAs) positions are available for well-motivated students who want to pursue PhD degrees at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA. There are also possible positions available for Visiting Graduate Students and highly-qualified postdoctoral researchers with strong motivation to pursue fundamental research, and excellent writing and communication skills. These positions are offered by the Signal Processing and Wireless Communications group at George Mason, led by Prof. Zhi (Gerry) Tian . This group is engaged in cutting-edge research on statistical signal processing and wireless communications in the big-data era. Research projects include signal processing for machine learning, sparse optimization, statistical analysis of network data, and applications in cognitive radio networks, brain and sensor networks. Research activities on wireless cognitive radios and 5G massive MIMO technology are also supported. Students and researchers have opportunities to explore new research topics of their interest.
GRA candidates should have outstanding academic records and strong motivation to pursue fundamental research, and must meet the admission requirements of the graduate program of George Mason. GRA funding covers yearly stipends and tuitions. George Mason University is located in the Greater Washington DC area, offering a dynamic academic program, outstanding cultural amenities and nationally recognized livability.
