大家的PS和SOP区别大么？

话说遇到个NCSU，院里要求是SOP，但是网申系统要求交PS，不知该当如何了……

其实，ucb和umich的要求上写的很清楚了，可是写起来确不那么好写，我也在纠结中。一不注意就把二者写得太相似了

是啊！！！虽然有具体要求，但还是不好写出很大区别。。。。比如开头结尾什么的。。。

基本上我申的都是要SOP。。可能跟我的专业有关吧。。我是ME的。看到的只有UCB和UMich要PS，UCB的还是貌似PHS。。。个人感觉写起来SOP和PS还是区别蛮大的。两个东西我写的内容基本上60%是不一样的东西。PS写更多感受方面的东西吧。比如说怎么就想搞这个了啊，然后之前都搞了啥促使自己想搞这个啊之类的。还有就是写写自己为啥要上这个program之类的。SOP的话，我自己的还没写好，（刚开始SOP），感觉更多要集中在purpose吧。比如选择这个项目之后，有怎样的具体研究计划之类的，然后之后要如何如何选择自己的职业方向什么的。可能对于个人性格、之前的经历什么的要求比较不看重的。

差别不小。。。貌似ps更侧重于常规叙事，sop侧重于心路历程动机什么的

我也两个都写了，最终两个完全不一样

UCSB的网申系统里是这么说的：
Statement of Purpose
Give a brief statement outlining your reasons for undertaking a graduate program, your particular area of specialization within the major field, your past academic work, and your plans for future occupation or profession. Also include any additional information that may assist the selection committee in evaluating your preparation and aptitude for graduate study at UC Santa Barbara.
