I think the question should be asking yourself what do you want to achieve ultimately.
If your ultimate goal is returning to China, be a faculty or non-technical career in the industry, I think CUHK is a good choice, since its reputation in China is quite outstanding, unless it is compared to very top US schools. Besides, HKPFS is even better than the fellowship in the U.S. schools, which may make yourself very motivated during the four years, haha.
But if your goal is entering industry as an engineer after graduation, there is no doubt that you should go to the U.S.. In my prospective, China, including Hong Kong, has very poor EE/CS industry, in terms of innovation. Entering this kind of industry may has very negative impact on your technical profile. Plus, the salary in the U.S. is far more attractive for entry-level engineers. |
