1. Problem Solving

a. Pick any favorite app and figure out how toimprove it or Designing a new product

i. Example: Design a navigation product for blind peopleor design a new headphone/stool.

b. This question is to find out how you react tonew situation or new product.

c. Things to Keep in Mind

i. Clarifying the Problem context: Why are we doingthis improvement or designing this product? Are there any specific set of usersfor which we are targeting? What is the objective, i.e. increase engagement/revenue/download/retention?

ii. List down assumptions

iii. Think of big solutions:

1. Example 1, how to improve Gmail? A good answer inthis case would be how to reduce storage. People are using 50GB of storage on Gmailon average, that's a huge cost for google given it's a free email service. Peoplerun out of storage space as well ,then they need to purchase storage. Is therea new way of archive or indexing emails that uses less space.

2. Example 2, how to improve google+? Pick acertain use case for how people is using social networking and push users touse google+ for that usecase. A lot of people post pet photos or wedding photson facebook, can we make google+ a place to share wedding stories, travelstories or pets stories or stories about your kids, to drive engagement from acertain set of users.

2. Analytical

a. Estimation Questions: estimate market size,estimate number of flights in airspace at 11am

b. Don't focus on the actual number, focus on theapproach. How are you breaking down this problem? Top down or bottoms upapproach? MECE method or issue/estimation tree
