哥大 mph epi流病收到邮件问要不要改成ms，求问怎么办

申请了各个学校的epi mph项目，刚收到columbia的邮件，内容如下：After a preliminary review of your application, the Admissions Committee noted your interests seem to be more aligned with our MS degree program in Epidemiology instead of our 2 year MPH program.  Can we consider you for the MS degree?



本人是准备毕业以后尽量试着找工作，ms似乎是偏research方向的。我也考虑进去一年以后转到biostat，感觉ms进去也没办法转了。求问大家我应该如何回复，这个邮件的意思是不是说我继续申请mph的话会被据掉？

既然找工作，是不是要OPT时间长一点的好
MPH不属于STEM，MS属于STEM
个人愚见

我反而觉得如果走Biostat的话，MS会更好，和tech/pharm工作更对口，MPH感觉更对标政府PH部门或者Non-profit那种？lz是确定MS转不成专业了吗，不如再确认下？

我看别人说mph也不是全不属于stem biostats的mph应该是stem epi的mph不确定…

如果特别想去这个学校，那就接受ms，mph差不多没戏了吧；如果是特别想得到mph学位，那就如实回复学校，但估计希望不大了。进校之后转专业貌似很难，一般也得考试前几名才有机会。

1，你的好是指哪方面的好？2，我们很少会从学位名称判断专业好不好，比如国内的英语专业硕士，有文学硕士，有翻译硕士，名称不一样，研究的侧重点不一样，没有可比性。3，具体看下哥大的两个学位：A，The Columbia MPH program in Epidemiology prepares students for careers in public health by providing the skills needed to conduct research into the causes, prevention, and control of human disease. Typical applicants are people with science backgrounds and/or experience in health, medicine, or science-related fields.从官网给出定义只能初步分析出，MPH比较注重研究方法，MS比较注重理论知识学习。从我们传统理念上分析，被调剂的专业一般没有原申请专业好。决定你被哪个学位录取，主要看你是不是流行病本专业学生（学校官网给的解释），如果不是本专业，但与搞专业相关，就是MS学位啦。
