金融行业的码农的成长

目前new grad在大厂工作一年，有点兴趣想进入金融行业，目前正在准备面试和了解公司的过程中。

对于这个行业，了解了几个数据点（HRT，DE Shaw, 2Sigma），只知道在入门的级别的待遇是比FLAG之类的大厂要好的，而且相对来说更加selective？但是对于职业发展，或者说长远来看能力/level/Total Compnesation和湾区的大公司来比较是怎么样呢？

I remember read something in this forum that a 5-6 YOE in 2 sigma can get Google L5/L6 TC (which is public data). In general these elite HF companies pay more than FLAG, which is understandable because of the much smaller employee pool in those firms.

But the biggest concern is that developers in financial firms are like 2nd class citizens. If you are not sensitive to that then it's ok. I have worked in banks and felt the same thing but it didn't bother me. You spend most of the time in your small (IT) team anyway.
