DIY Advocacy Guide Note:
This is not rocket science.
Do your own advocacy and reach out to the two senators that represent you and ask them to support S. 386 "Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act"
1. Collect signatures and/or people from your state.
2. Contact your senators' local office and set up a time for you to meet them. Pro tip: summer recess is coming, which means senators will be in state.
3. Get your friends/colleagues to join you for this meeting.
- If you collected signatures, hand it over.
- If not, share your stories with the staff. They will happily take notes.
More people you bring with you. more likely that senator will see vou in person.
Pro Tip: Look for townhalls senators are hosting near you. Check http://townhall.proiect.com. Townhalls save you the time to set up appointment. Bring a big group to it and see the magic.
You are always welcome to visit Washington DC too. But start local first.
