About Mississippi State University
Founded in 1878, Mississippi State University (MSU) is a Carnegie High Research Activity institution (R1: Doctoral Universities - Very High Research Activity) and a land grant university with the largest campus by enrollment in the state. MSU is also listed as one of the state's flagship universities. The university is located in Starkville, a beautiful college town in northeast Mississippi (www.msstate.edu/web/about).

Position Description
The position will be working primarily under the direct supervision of the advisor (Dr. Haifeng Wang) to conduct research/project works in the area of operations research and machine learning. Will be responsible for writing/reading research papers, working on research projects, attending conferences, preparing research presentations, etc. The research topics include: 1) healthcare data mining, 2) smart manufacturing, 3) autonomous vehicle, etc. The detail of Dr. Wang’s research can be found from the link: https://hfwang.weebly.com/

Requirements
-Pursue Ph.D. degree in Dr. Wang's lab
-Interested in operations research/data mining/machine learning research topics
-Held a Bachelor/Master degree in industrial engineering or related field
-Operation research/computer science/statistics backgrounds are preferred
-A strong sense of responsibility and be able to learn new things in a fast-paced environment
-Has to be highly motivated
-Proficiency in English (through GRE and TOEFL scores)
